If you are fresher, then you can initially work as an assistant special educator and gain a few months of experience and can upgrade yourself to the main teacher’s position.

Classroom teacher – Nowadays, schools have inclusive classrooms wherein normal children sit with the children having special needs, so it is very important for the teacher to be aware of the concept of Special education needs. With the appropriate certificate and training, you can work in normal schools. You need to have a proper educational background.

Head of department or headmaster of special education school – With certain years of experience in the field of special education, a special educator can upgrade them and think for the post of head of the department or for the position of the headmaster of the school.

Curriculum developer for Special education school – There needs to have proper curriculum planning and development for the special education schools. So, with experience special educator can look forward and be into curriculum development.

Work in NGO – Teachers who have a special interest in the field of social work and social service can think of something like NGO’s to work with.

A special educator should have patience, creativity, dedication and love for children. There is a lot of hard work and learning involved when dealing with these children.
