14th February 2022

The basic thing about an intensive support classroom is the same as a regular classroom but it provides extra support to learners who have special learning needs. An intensive support classroom can be an inclusive classroom as well where special needs teachers teach SEN children along with ordinary children. Generally, an intensive support classroom is held for a particular period of time so that a particular goal can be framed and the progress rate of learners can be thoroughly monitored.

A teaching career in an inclusive classroom is quite special because educators come across multiple talented kids.

Special education programs are highlighting the increased demand for intensive classrooms for supporting SEN or special education students. Since these classrooms are meant for students with special needs, it is very important to make it look beautiful that will be eye-pleasing for the gifted children by keeping in mind their requirements. SEN educators or teaching assistants often wonder how to organize a classroom that is going to give intensive support.

Along with teaching strategies, special educators must have accurate knowledge of designing an intensive classroom. If decorated properly, the vibes and ambiance radiated out of those rooms accelerate learning activities. These tactics can be followed to set up a classroom.

SAFE AND SECURED CLASSROOM:

We recommend keeping everything protected in a cabinet, basket, lockers, cupboards, etc. so that those are beyond the reach of kids. You might not have any problem with kids looking inside your cabinets, yet you must keep certain items away from them for their safety purpose. Some art supplies like glues, paper-knife, scissors, etc., are sharp and can be harmful if not handled with care. You can use a normal lock and key system or a magnetic lock system to keep such things safe.

POSTERS LAMINATION:

Posters, if are glued to the walls, quite often destroy the texture of the walls, and down the line walls become wretched and look very shabby. Thus, all posters that must be hung from the wall should be laminated properly. It looks extremely calm, subtle, and moreover, aesthetic.

PROPER UTILIZATION OF THE HEIGHT

The presence of cupboards or almirahs in that room for stocking up important and necessary pieces of stuff is really important. If planned properly and calmly, spaces above that furniture can be utilized to keep several items. Depending upon the heights of those furniture, posters and other items can be hung above them. Showpieces can be kept on top of those to give the room a beautiful look.

HOOKS AND WALL ADHESIVE:

Wall hooks and wall adhesives are saviors these days because they can be used for multiple purposes and they save a lot of space as well. Sticking those on the walls does not damage the condition of the walls. An enormous amount of wall shelves is available in the market that can be hung using either wall hooks or adhesives. Online platforms are selling creative and unique designed wall shelves that can be used in the classroom.

Thus inclusive education can be made interesting and positive relationships can be built if the bond between teachers and students becomes smooth. Visual pleasure matters a lot in an intensive and inclusive classroom and hence special education programs are focusing a lot on organizing an intensive support classroom.
